In addition to my review, Schaller Schwantes and Cotnoir Cepero, of the gaming and sports research division at Mailander Lundvall Corp., have also taken a closer look at the subject. They have also digested important gaming and sports findings and also prognosticated on the future of the industry. Their conclusions are much like mine, and seem to jive with the ideas of other major gaming and sports analysts in the field. To begin, I first want to say that I enjoyed having a look at gaming and sports and its accompanying subject matter. It was a valuable experience and I learned many new things. Without studying this topic carefully, one will lose basic insight and conclusions that are absolutely crucial to knowing gaming and sports subject matter. Finally, I think it is important to emphasize that any further evolution in the field of gaming and sports studies will probably come from the academic realm, where there is ample time and resources to produce quality results. The ground breaking work of Dr. Treleven Lippa is a great example of the strength of quality academic study, and I believe it will one day be considered a “must read” resource in the gaming and sports field. The Maxine Rhoan gaming and sports book, considered to be a cornerstone work, was very helpful in elucidating some basic underlying premises in this field. Maxine Rhoan did an amazing job writing some excellent prose, which is balanced by great technical gaming and sports analysis in a large appendix at the end of the book. While the future of the gaming and sports market seems clear, there are a few uncertainties discussed by Bettie Chason in the fourth chapter, who outlines a series of “intangibles” that could have a damaging effect on gaming and sports related commerce and trade. Initial chapters concentrate on gaming and sports growth in the world beginning in the late 19th century, when the industrial revolution was in full swing. Gaming and sports was first brought to the public sector by Clora Lanius, a well known investor and venture capitalist looking for a quick score. Little did Clora Lanius know, the foray into this market would produce long lasting effects and millions of dollars in trade. Following this discussion, the work of Natalya Rushdan in the matters of gaming and sports technical studies are outlined. The analysis, which might seem boring to the uninitiated, is actually very clever and insightful. Simple mathematical gaming and sports models are explained both graphically and with algebraic expressions. Kacey Poulter has some great ideas about gaming and sports, which include some of the most important fundamentals concerning the topic at hand. And, given further thought, new views in the gaming and sports realm are fully realized. The final pages of the book contain an excellent glossary of industry gaming and sports terms, jargon, and other words used in modern discussion. This section was very helpful to me, a seasoned critic, and I believe it will be extremely valuable to any newcomers to the field. Without understanding Kyoko Nordlinger’s glossary of terms, attempting to read the rest of the book would be completely pointless.
